A Whole Note From Jason
What's coming up, what's new, and how you can support "Music That Heals"
“Music can change the world.” (Beethoven)
Welcome to my first “A Whole Note” newsletter from your host and the creator of The Whole Notes Concert Series. These notes are meant to inspire, encourage, inform and to keep you going through the good, bad, ugly and beautiful moments of creativity. These notes are also meant to remind you that you are WHOLE. Through the dark, through the self doubt, through it all, you are WHOLE and more than enough.
How do I know that? Because for many years, and still at times, I need to be reminded that who I am is not only reflected in what I do or who I surround myself with. I have learned that being whole means knowing your OWN wholeness. Knowing that being here right now - that is enough to matter and to make a difference. Sharing our gifts and our struggles is a precious part of this human experience. For me, music has been a constant touchstone of inspiration and healing. Who knew that I wouldn't really appreciate this connection to music until long after my 20 year music career “ended.” Not me HAHA! Now, I GET TO share music that heals with others through the creation of a monthly concert series that centers on sharing through giving.
Whole Notes will host its 16th show on September 22 in recognition of Suicide Prevention month as we feature the impactful work of The Jason Foundation. The artists are passionate advocates of this mission, as are we.
We hope you will come out to join us! Our monthly shows are a benefit partnership with a variety of causes and our own 501(c)3, Spiritual Sustainability. We need your support on this journey of music that heals. The show has been described by one attendee as “The Bluebird on steroids”…so you know the quality and intention you can expect from this and all other upcoming Whole Notes shows. Thanks Kevin Schlatt for your love and support!
Upcoming WN Show Dates:
September 22 for The Jason Foundation
October 15 for Ben Sturgell’s Battle with ALS
November 19 for Tree House Recovery
These shows were created to give artists and songwriters the stage to provide hope, vision and victory over old wounds through the sharing of songs and the stories behind those songs. The honesty and the heart we put into this project is meant to land right where it is supposed to when the listener experiences that moment in time, that exchange between the creator and receiver, the aesthete. This in turn leaves the listener feeling inspired, grateful and courageous about life, love and this crazy human journey. The impact is boundless and goes far beyond the show night.
What’s new? Divine connections and new friends!
Through several aligned connections, we will be adding in some new and exciting things in the near future in terms of sound healing through the mind-blowing gifts of Karen Renee Robb (we call her Kay Ray!) and her work. Click on the pictures below to learn more about her tremendous gifts and beautiful vision for sound and music healing. You will definitely see more of her at future WN shows.
“Sound. It lives, moves, and breathes in us, through us and all around us. Wherever we are, sound is emanating, vibrating, and affecting us on a deep level. Sound is sacred. Sound creates. Sound can soothe. Sound unites.”
-Karen Renee Robb

Call To Action:
988 Call. Text. Chat. DID YOU KNOW?
Last night was “988 night” to raise awareness of the 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline – previously known as the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline – which is a national network of more than 200 crisis centers that helps thousands of people overcome crisis situations every day. So please, save this number in your phone - if ever you may need it or to share it with someone else to remind someone you love that they matter and help is available.
Final reflections…
For added inspiration I’ll leave you with these thoughts and questions to reflect, journal, write a song about or just to consider as you move through your day…
It starts with one person, so let’s start with you…How has music changed your world? How has music healed you?
Until next time…stay strong, stay whole.
Jason Krupek
“Music can change the world because it can change people.” (Bono)
